The Citrus Newcomers Club provides an opportunity for women who are residents of Citrus County, Florida, to meet and socialize. Application for membership is limited to women who are residents of Citrus County
We meet for lunch on the third Thursday of the month, September through May, at various county locations where programs are presented focusing on topics of local interest.
Although the luncheon meetings are attended by women, there are special activities and trips that include spouses, significant others, and friends. Special interest groups include such things as antique/flea market shopping, board and card games, book clubs, bowling scrambles, Bridge, crafts, golf scrambles, kayaking, Mah Jongg, pinochle, and quilting. There are also groups called "Supper Clubs" where members take turns meeting in each other's homes to share meals.
The club year runs from June through May. Even though there are no Thursday luncheon meetings in June, July, or August, activities and trips are scheduled throughout these months. The annual membership dues of $20.00 are used for club expenses.
A monthly newsletter called the Newscomer is published September through May to keep members informed about all of the opportunities for fun and friendship. In addition, emails are sent peridically to remind members of the monthly luncheons and to inform them of upcoming activities. RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP BEFORE JUNE 15th to assure that you will be included in the Citrus Newcomers’ Directory for 2009-2010.
The Application/Renewal Membership Form is on the website. (NOTE: We have combined the Application for and Renewal of Membership into one form) Please fill in the form and send it with $20.00 to Barbara Mattichak. The address is on the lower left hand corner of the Form. The information on these forms is used to create the Newcomer’s Directory for 2009-2010.
