Special interest groups are those activities that help make Newcomers feel a part of their new home.  It is an opportunity to meet other women who have common interests.  Please contact the coordinator directly or look for a sign-up sheet at the luncheon.

Mah Jongg:  Call Chris Harvey at 400-4961 for more information.

Singles Group:  Meet other singles in Newcomers and join in attending activities, carpooling, lunches, etc.  Call Francis Hamilton, at 341-3911.  

Book Club: Fourth Thursday each month at the Lakes Region Public Library, Inverness at 1:30 P.M.  Call Judy Heron at 860-0232. 

Discussion Group:  This group offers an alternative to a book club. If you like to talk and don’t have time to read, this may be for you. We meet the second Monday of each month from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Public Library in Homosassa.   For more information, please call Ellen Evans 344-0839 or Judy Gray-746-3388

Card and Game Night:  Meets third Friday of each month at the Floral City Community Center at 6:00 P.M.  Open to the entire Citrus Hill community, couples or singles.  Cost is $2.00 per person.  Bring a snack or dessert to share and your own beverages.  If interested call Carol DeLisle at 341-7745.

Kayaking:  If you are interested in kayaking with other Newcomers contact Carol Kircoaf at (305) 396-6212 or Judy Leavitt at 746-7716.  

  December 16th - Weeki Wachee We will meet at 9am for a 9:30 paddle.

  January- Lake Rousseau  (afternoon paddle)
  February- Withlachoochee at Dunnellon  (afternoon paddle)
  March- Ozello (afternoon paddle)
  April- Santa Fe   (morning)
  May- Ichnetuchnee (morning)

Be sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, bug stuff, water/beverage, sun glasses, extra clothes (remember this is a water sport and you might get wet), and extra money.   The cost is $21.20 for rental/per person and $10.30/per person if you have your own gear/kayak.  Cash is always welcome and checks can be made out to Carol Kircoaf.  Please e-mail Carol Kircoaf (ckircoaf@tampabay.rr.com) if you wish to attend and/or if you wish to make any changes to your request. 

Pinochle:  If you would like to play pinochle call Louise Michael at 746-4691.  Beginners are welcome.  New group is forming to play during the day.

Mystery Book Club:  For information contact Rene Wise at 746-4461.

Stampin’ Divas:  Join the Stampin Divas and share the rubberstamping experience.   Create greeting cards and projects for all occasions.  Beginners and experienced rubberstampers are welcome.   If you have not previously attended a Stampin Divas meeting contact Kren Kurts at (352) 465-4652 or Gerri Kowalski at (352) 860-2832 to obtain information.

American Sewing Guild:  If you are interested in sewing, there is a group forming by Peggy Morelli.  A signup sheet will be available at the April luncheon.
